SYNOPSIS OF ORDINANCES
DOGS AND CATS REGULATIONS
All dogs and cats must be licensed. If the pet is spaded
or neutered the license is $3.00 or if the pet is not fixed
the license is $8.00. Licenses can be purchased at City Hall.
All dogs and cats must be on a leash or be in a fenced area.
They can not run loose. Feces must be immediately picked up
while walking your pet. Feces on private property must be
picked up within 24 hours.
OVERNIGHT PARKING OR OFF STREET PARKING
You can not park without permission from the Police Department
on any City owned street and parking lot from 2 AM to 6 AM.
Permission can be obtained by calling 833-2366 any time prior
to 2 AM. Requests for more than one night should be called
in during normal business hours of 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through
Friday.
SCOOTERS AND OTHER ELECTRONIC MOTOR VEHICLES
All vehicles that are operated in the roadway must be licensed
by the Department of Transportation (DOT). In order to be
licensed by the DOT the vehicle must meet certain safety criteria.
Operators must have a drivers’ license in order to operate
in the roadway.
NOISE
Loud stereos, cutting grass, construction and such is not
permitted between the hours of 10 PM to 7 AM. However, if
the noise is loud and unnecessary there is no time limit.
NOISE VARIANCE PERMITS
You must obtain a Noise Variance Permit from the Police Department
if you are planning on having outdoor amplified music such
as a DJ or a live band. The permits are for private citizens
as well as for organizations that are planning an outdoor
event. Permits should be requested at least one month prior
to event.
BLOCKING SIDEWALKS
The sidewalk must remain clear of any obstructions when parking
your vehicle(s) in your driveway.
HOUSE NUMBERS
All businesses and residences must have a house number posted
in at least 4 inch block numbers.
BLOCK PARTIES AND/OR STREET CLOSERS REQUEST
Request for block parties and street closers must be directed
to and approved by the Police Department. Request should be
made at least two weeks prior to event. |
